It seems to be a clutch problem because it doesn't stop the reels very well in rewind mode either as shown video. This VCR has brand new belts and been lubed. It is very clean and in excellent physical condition with the original remote. Theres a ING/grinding sound too which I think is the root cause of problem.

Rewind seems to work okay when its stopped but it binds up trying rewind in play mode and shuts the machine off. All functions seem to work except it will not rewind while in play mode.
